Bah, can't sleep. Mind is too busy.
Decided that I'm making bath baskets for Christmas gifts again this year, and bah humbug to anyone that doesn't like it :P Yah, Christmas spirit whatever. I am making them all the same theme this year (ocean theme) for simplification. I have cute seashell soap molds, etc, and will be including ornaments this year. Clear glass globes partially filled with sand and little shells. You know, like those "beach in a glass box" things, where you can shift and turn it to uncover new "beach scenes". And people will like them dammit! Or else!
Actually I have to give credit for the ornaments via
katlyn, some wedding resource or another mentioned a couple that gave them as favors, and I really like the idea. For personalization, I'm thinking about asking people what scent they'd like. (BTW, does anyone have a few drops of Red perfume to donate?) It might sort of "ruin the surprise" but I'd rather use a scent they like than surprise them with something they don't like. What do you think?
Soooooo... who wants to make soaps and stuffs with me?? I was thinking since
roisnoir's kitchen is smallish, we could do it at my place. Happy fun bath supply making and we could do girly or sewing things too if ya wanna. Anyone interested? Rois, I can come get you if you need a ride... and not just because I want your bathbomb-making skills & supplies :) Jennifer, can you pass the invite along to Kelly as well?

Date: 2002-11-21 06:25 am (UTC)*I* was thinking of making bath goodies for eveyone this year, too. *grin*
And your place sounds fine to me.
I really miss my soaping room sometimes.
This weekend, I have to figure out how much citric acid I have - might need to get more, and it's getting on time for my annual "buy more smells!" binge. *laugh*
Any special requests for scents and flavors, anyone?

Date: 2002-11-21 10:23 am (UTC)Do you want bath stuff? I usually don't get it for the guys cuz they think it's all girly (like guys smell good naturally?? HA!) but I could make some for you with some cologne or something. I will have to check and see if they make coke scent for soap, but I'm pretty sure they do have the pumpkin spice scent so if you are serious ya better watch out! You'll be smelling pumpkin roll every time you take a shower and craving it and your 4 feet (aka one pumpkin roll) isn't gonna last that long... you're gonna have to stop asking for divinity for Christmas and ask for more pumpkin roll.

Date: 2002-11-21 12:04 pm (UTC)It's a dessert - basically "pumpkin cake" which is baked in a thin layer (we pour the batter into the cookie sheets that have the sides) sometimes with nuts but usually without since people in my family are picky. You assemble it just like you would a chocolate roll or jelly roll, using cream cheese frosting, and dust the entirety with powdered sugar. Some people don't care for it that much, but my family *really* likes them. Yummmm...
If you want, I can send you the recipe - I think it's a nice alternative to the ubiquitous pumpkin pie.
