I suppose I should have realized something was wrong when the local trendy coffee place was practically empty this morning. I was craving something with apples (in retrospect, I really hope it was apples I was craving...), but they were out, so I ended up with a chocolate croissant instead. And honestly, it's such a cutely yuppie kind of town that I would've expected the newly-risen to supplement their macabre diet with candy coffee, so maybe it WAS just a coincidence.
There weren't a lot of people on the streets, and the ones who were out were kind of shamble-y, but come on... it's Livermore in the summer. That's pretty much normal behavior in this heat.
Went to the library and picked up some potty-training books. There might have been some brain-eating going on in between some of the stacks, but apparently not in the child-development section. I'd like to pretend I'd've noticed if all the librarians had been munched, but the truth is that we have those self-checkout scanners, so I wouldn't've. But there was a librarian to check me out. I didn't notice if he was wearing a hat or if he still had a pulse.
Now I'm pretty much home for the day, so unlikely to notice any further undead activity. I have to say, it's been a pretty peaceful uprising in my neck of the woods.
