Eek, I have not updated....

Christmas was lovely.... Nate & I spent the morning snuggling and unwrapping our gifts to each other and those from his family. It was very nice. Then a little after noon we got ready and headed over to my mom's. Things there were mostly good... although ended on a bad note with my brother & mom.... But still, overall, a happy holiday.

Christmas evening I went to Neopets and got thoroughly addicted. I've always liked things like this though, so it's not surprising. I got Nate hooked too, after which I found out there is a referral reward system.... oh well! If anyone wants cute little online pets, I would be happy to give you a referral link!

Last night, we saw the Lord of the Rings movie (finally!) and it was very good, as everyone who's seen it seems to think. I was a bit disappointed that the elvish effects weren't better - they could have been awe inspiring take your breath away, IMO, but I also think they may be saving better effects for later movies. The ones they had were very good. In general, I'm happy with the portrayal and mood of the film... I think it is true to the book in that way. I am eager to see the next two but am content to wait - at least for now. My virtue of patience is well-known for working sporadically and unpredictably. I'm eager to know what Jeff thinks when he sees it, especially as he is new to the books as well. (and will have them fresh in his mind) I believe we may be planning to see it a second time in the theaters (with our friend Trudi). If so, I might reread the book and see if it casts a different light on things.

*Yawn* We are supposed to start cleaning up the Christmas & related clutter tonight. That was the plan anyway... Classes start on the 22nd, so soon I will be busyish - I'm going to miss all this time. Best enjoy it whilst I can, eh?

Me hopes I like the movie....I'm a little afraid tho'...cuz by this time it's been very hyped and there are all these reviews that say it's so good....so I'm concerned I'm going to be let down as I often am when things are hyped up like this. We'll see...hopefully we'll get out to see it this weekend sometime.


Classes! Tres cool!!! I'm really interested in what you're gonna take & stuff! And if I can be of ANY help with class stuffs, I'd love to. I mean like just in the way of discussing things or helping to clarify something for you or whatever I might be able to do, y'know?

Re: movie... I do not think you will be let down. It is very good, and not in a flashy look-at-all-this-new-technology way, more in a classic, you-can-watch-this-in-10-years-and-it-will-be-just-as-good way.... like Labyrinth. I *think* you will like it. It kind of suits you... it has a mellow/melancholy feel to it...but still plenty of action and stuff. You may only be disappointed if you are waiting for one particular part, and it didn't make it in... bear in mind, alot had to be cut. But it is good! Go see it!

College: This first semester I am taking:
1. An English class geared towards writing fiction... maybe I can figure out how to do plots!
2. Psychology (General)
3. Anthropology (General)
4. Photography (General)

#'s 3 and 4 are prerequisites for other stuff it would be cool to take... and I think I will have enough of a mix between serious classes and fun classes that I will do well... that is the plan anyway. I am a little nervous... heehee... but that's what we know so far!
