I have pretty new granite countertops! Picture also features an adorable baby sporting the ever-popular shampoohawk.

So we've mostly been doing stuff revolving around home improvements. My dad came out and switched me over so I now have gas stove goodness instead of electric.... soooo much happiness. Very pleased with my kitchen in general. Alex also got to get some hanging-out-with-grandpa time which is important - yay (very brief) kite flying and playgroundiness!

Alas, Alex has been in trouble a lot. He went a week of not completing his work, and lost his lego priveledges for the weekend. He got caught cheating and got it extended to no legos until he got a week of green tickets (completed work & good behavior) and no beverages besides water or plain milk. He got caught cheating AGAIN and got more toys taken away and legos removed. He managed to find some somewhere (they are crazy about appearing out of nowhere in the least likely of places) and is now restricted down to four toys - a couple hot wheels and his R2D2 and C3PO figures. If he somehow manages to mess up again, I think the only avenue left is honey and fire ants. That or salt mines, and I'm not sure we have any of those around here.

Nate's birthday is tomorrow :D It is also St Patrick's day, so happy that to all of you! I have been incredibly lazy and not offered four leaf clovers this year. If anyone wants one out-of-season, I suppose that's always an option. I also had cake on Pi day (o, heathen me), so basically I'm just throwing caution to the wind and treating holidays all willy-nilly. What will become of it?

Ryan continues to be adorable, if kinda fussy. He's got another tooth coming in I think, and a bit under the weather... one boy in kindergarten means we get way more cases of the sniffles than we're entitled to. His newest trick is crinkling up his nose - where could he possibly have picked that up?? heh. Since he decided to give crawling a miss, his main mode of locomotion is scooting around on his butt, usually in vague circles, until he gets where he wants to be. I'm sure walking will enter his repetoire eventually, but he seems more interested in sitting-and-scooting than he is in standing at the moment.

I think that's all the news? I've had some depression backsliding but for the most part have been stable I think. Spring has me wanting to go back to coppery red hair. Warmer weather means it's time for Nate to start making me delicious coldbrew coffee syrup so I can have iced lattes all the time (without completely supporting the entire starbucks chain by myself). Nom. Need to figure out what I'm doing for Ryan's first birthday... big bash in May, not sure whether to try and use my place or a park or some other option, dunno what to do for theme & activities, blah blah blah. I also want to have a big late spring party. Everyone wants to come hang out at my house, right? There'll be food and stuff.
