*deep breaths*
Aug. 3rd, 2008 05:59 pmAh, what an amazing time it has been. Birthday celebrations were had last night, and
missmorte got to meet
denyce and
varkelton and
amara_m and vice versa, and I got to meet the very winsome and charming niece-and-nephew-of-Amara. ( It was a really lovely time and it meant lots to me that you all came out to celebrate with me, and I hope it was fun for you guys too.) It was unexpected chilly, but we managed to survive thanks to strategic blanket/jacket runs and eventually retiring to our place once it was getting dark. The wind meant yay kites, though, so that was keen. My mom was having a good day (other than getting really lost, but that's not really a new thing) and my brother showed incredible patience in the face of girls squeeing over hot boys. He is pretty awesome sometimes. Awww, I just have so much love for everyone right now.
What else is new? Ooh, people visiting! Our nephew Joshua is out this year, and it's been pretty cool getting to see/know him. He's the quiet, secluded one of the trio, so he tends to get glossed over in group visits and that just sucks. (Sailorboy) Lee is also over from the UK, being generally tiny and adorable and such. There are plans to go play at the Exploratoreum on Tuesday, which should be fantastic... Alex has never been but I think he's old enough to like it now, at least some of the stuff, and with preschool out for the summer he has been very keen on glomming on to other kids. It'll be good for him to get some cousin time in.
Today was Chloe's first birthday party. Yay! Lots of little ones romping around, lots of great people that I don't get to see that often, lots of marveling over my new diabetes-improved figure. Little girls have making me want a bebe like woah. Sometime soon, we've got to go see Leslay and Tom's bundle of cuteness in person, and that may well cause me to expire of adorability.
August stretches before me in blissfully (relatively) uncluttered days. Towards the end of the month, there's Alex's birthday and my mom's birthday, and he goes back to preschool on the 25th. My brain has seized hard on the fact that I have theoretical free time coming, and kept me awake all night with burgeoning flashes of inspiration. I anticipate a really good month.
