Random things

Hi, hi, everyone! :::flings random bits of love in direction of friendslist:::
So, let's see. House stuff.... deconstruction of the workshop is in full swing. We'd hoped we could re-use the frame, but upon inspection, it seems like it would make more sense to just start from scratch (well, scratch plus completed foundation...) and Nate's been pretty gung-ho and I've been just letting him go to it, since that's his preferred method. Once the destruction and clearing away is done, we have happy completed plans with french doors and can build. Yay, building! I feel very positive.
Alex stuff... Sleep issues, again. You'd think I'd have the hang of this by now, but it's really kind of a mystery, and I'm not sure why sometimes he's fine, and sometimes he wakes up once, and sometimes he wakes up 5000 times. He was a little sniffly this morning, so maybe he's coming down with a cold? But really, I'm just making wild guesses. ::wishes that maternal ESP thing would kick in already:: And his birthday is later this month, for which I am almost completely unprepared. Craziness, because he can't possibly be two years old already.
Amy and Nate stuff :) We went to Walnut Creek in search of crepe restaurants (Walnut Creek is so lovely and yuppy and clearly horde-ing the crepe-y goodness, which is so unfair, since we have zero crepe places nearby) and wound up finding one with parking (miracle!) and had yumminess. I'd go back more often but distance, and bleh, parking... so I've been thinking I should just learn to make my own. You know, because I don't have enough tricksy difficult cooking specialties :) ::has still not lost my souffle virginity and is scared to::: ....but you know, yum, crepes. So we'll see. Oh! And also, we're going to Vegas the last weekend of September! Which should be lots of fun. And
missmorte is going too! And there shall be exciting and breathtaking shows, and hopefully meeting of the beautiful and talented
xanfan27, and probably a wee bit of gambling although I doubt much since it's generally not that entertaining to me. And maybe spa time and cliche-but-still-fun pillow fights on the hotel beds. Whee! I'm all excited about it.
Oookay, I think that's it. Special long-distance I-miss-you hugs to
moon_heart,
katlyn, and
lmariec.

Date: 2006-08-16 11:22 pm (UTC)My biggest obstacle will probably be my lack of quality cookware. Usually I use my cheapie teflon-ish things that I bought when I first moved out on my own (they're fantastic for canned soup), but I think crepes want silly things like even heating and a smooth cooking surface? Or not. Who knows? The pancakes turn out fine.
