Yeah, I'm terrible with the LJ. It just plays up to all my lurker tendencies, and pretty soon I'm forgetting to comment and forgetting to update. But I am almost always reading. In lieu of going back and actually commenting on your posts, I give you random comments (alphabetically from my friendslist):

[livejournal.com profile] anjanka7: Even though I rarely reply, I read your posts. I just don't usually know what to say.

[livejournal.com profile] bograthe: Jay almost never updates his LJ either. Bad younger brother! But he's my #1 source of stepfather gossip, I just have to get it in person.

[livejournal.com profile] bunnycat: Another one with the almost-never updating. But I think we're supposed to be getting together with her and Matt at some point, which would be good.

[livejournal.com profile] horrorvenus: Sorry you had a yucky day yesterday, and I hope today is better! Any chance you'll be posting pictures of the fun new hair?

[livejournal.com profile] kathykirk: Yeah. My mom really never updates, and almost never reads. But she's a fabulous mom in real life, and an excellent grandma.

[livejournal.com profile] katlyn: It's good to see you posting. Your pictures are always lovely. I miss you. I hope we get a chance to see you when you come down.

[livejournal.com profile] lmariec: I'm not sure if you read or not. But hi!

[livejournal.com profile] missmorte: How is your strawberry coming along?

[livejournal.com profile] moon_heart: I still think of you all the time. Last night I was looking at Japanese garden stuff and thought of you. It's been way too long since we had a conversation instead of email/LJ, and of course I always miss you.

[livejournal.com profile] mrnova: Never posts, never writes... haven't heard a thing from/about him in forever.

[livejournal.com profile] quess: Never posts, never writes, but we'll be seeing her in June. LJ just isn't her forte.

[livejournal.com profile] reboot_kid: Love you. Cheer up.

[livejournal.com profile] roisnoir: Hee, I'm excited that you're getting new kitties and hoping it means pictures of adorableness on my friendslist like last time.

[livejournal.com profile] sublimatedangel: (Of course I'm on my friendslist) Best. PJs. EVER!

[livejournal.com profile] xanfan27: Love working with you and hope you're writing. I suppose I should stop procrastinating and do the same.

And a brief update as well, now that my faux-commenting is out of the way. Had a lovely weekend! [livejournal.com profile] missmorte joined us on Saturday and we all went to a local park, where we usually take Alexander to play on the playground. There was kite flying and picture taking and four leaf clover finding, and the weather was gorgeous. Nate barbequed and there were Midori margaritas by the time we made it to the hottub. Tipsy email and LJ checking, but I'm sure no one noticed. I was going to make bananas Foster for dessert, but it got too late, and really, do you need more than four kinds of alcohol in a day? Probably not. Sunday we got a corner desk for Nate and rearranged the living room a bit, and got lots of yummy things at Cost Plus, and... you know, Sunday stuff. This weekend we'll probably move my computer out of the baby's room and onto the other desk in the living room. And car shopping, if we don't do that during the week, since we need to trade Nate's in and get him a new one. I've restarted Weight Watcher's, so we'll see how that goes. And I'm still in my Count Chocula PJ's and may not get dressed until Alex goes down for his nap.

We're starting to get some hot days, although it's nice to see the sun. Peas and corn are sprouting, and we've got tomatoes and zucchini and artichoke plants as well. The roses are all budding up and blooming, and the freesias haven't quite finished. There's fruit on the peach tree, and blossoms on the blood orange, cherry, and lemon. Much watering in my future. Oh, and on Purina's advice, I started a little pot of catnip, thyme, and parsley for the kitties, and it's all sprouting up nicely in the kitchen window.

Apropos of nothing, I think I'm going to go for a Wizard of Oz them this Halloween. Alexander so needs to be dressed up as a munchkin.

Heh I forgot about craigslist considering she STILL hasn't turned on the computer william built for her over six years ago.

I'll pop over to the local to her page and check it out for her.
