Oct. 24th, 2005 12:44 pmFamily stuff: Went to my mom's this morning to pick the baby up since her car (and Alex's new carseat) were stolen. Her ATM card was also taken and hit for about $400 so far. Police, bank, etc have been contacted. We're (sadly) pretty sure who did it but there's not a lot of evidence at this time. I feel bad for my mom. She has a huge heart and just gives everyone a chance, and unfortunately, sometimes people take advantage of that. In the same theme, Nate's dad is pretty sure his aide has been stealing from him. At this time, it's added up to thousands of dollars in missing items, and they're still finding more gone. They do have her on check fraud from stealing one of Karl's checks, and the police are checking for fingerprints, etc, so hopefully they'll be able to get her for the larceny too. Still, many items are irreplaceable and who knows if they will turn up? So, very sad all around.
Today is day one of the South Beach diet. Really too soon to have much to say about it. So, yeah.
It's all chilly and autumnal today. Last night we had our first fire of the season. Yumm snuggling on the new couch in front of the fireplace. And it makes the kitties want snugglies more too, which is always sweet.
So, in summary? People suck, but kitties are good. Have a happy Monday.

Date: 2005-10-24 11:40 pm (UTC)About south beach- ok so the first 4 days are going to SUCK ASS. I had migraines, fatigue etc. But I drank sooo much water that it really flushed everything out and I felt fine after that. My first two weeks on it I lost 17 pounds, at least 10 of which was flat out water weight. You already know it changed my life. I am down 91 pounds now! From 250 (pick jaws up please) to 159! Hoping to hit the 100 mark by christmas. I'm on phase two right now, but may drop back to phase one for a while. Getting so close to goal I can taste it, 130 is my goal although I think I'd be content at 140.
Come over to www.lowcarbfriends.com I actually won a 12 week challenge there last year, the challenges are great for keeping your spirits up during the hard part, and the before/after images REALLY inspired me. Message me any time! You know SB is my life!
PS I am naturaldisaster at LCF

Date: 2005-10-25 12:08 am (UTC)Glad it is still working well for you! Would come hang out at lowcarbfriends but I've had to limit my online communities and am not sure I can add a new one right now. We will see how well I do on my own.
Is there a bigger list online of what's allowed during phase 1 & 2? The book has a teeny example list and there are so many things that aren't in the yes or no column. Like edamame. Can I have edamame?
