Sneaking in an update....
May. 3rd, 2005 11:04 pmWe had a really good weekend. Saturday, we decided to go up to the art & wine festival thing they had going on in town (one of the things I really love about where I live is all the little farmer's markets and festivals that happen in the summertime, just the perfect walking distance away). Mike & Shannon called, wanting to get together, so we invited them along too. Alexander did really well even though we were there for hours... was content most of the time to hang out in the backpack carrier (even caught a quick nap there) and the remainder being carried, no fussing or crying. Yay for happy babies!
Pretty good vendors and such... tasted way too many yummy things, and brought home a good number of interesting things... I'm especially looking forward to using some of the yummy flavored balsamic vinegars. Also got some really nifty prints (if I were a good person with time, I would have a lot of pictures in this post) to hang in the bedroom... kinda double exposure-y, one of a woods with cathedral arches, and one of a kitty in a graveyard - reminded me muchly of my and
missmorte's wander through one in Paris, with the beautiful crypts. And... there is other cool stuff we got, but I don't remember any of it - would have been better if I'd updated Saturday.
Came back to the house and hung out for a bit before taking the little one over to my mom's. She's managing to beg him off of us just about every weekend at this point, but it's hard to say no. Anyhow, we went looking for a dress for me to wear to Cassie's wedding (the 19th of this month) and after much searching, found something really lovely. Again, there really should be a picture here. Will try to take one soon, and if not, definitely will get one at the wedding. In the meantime, you'll just have to imagine something pretty in mostly cream with a black floral pattern, with a matching scarf/shawl/wrap/whatever. We had really meant to go see a local band that
horrorvenus has been chatting up, but unfortunately our busy day dictated an early night instead.
Sunday - a bit more shopping, as I didn't have anything resembling a formal occasion purse (now have cute small black satin item for essentials) and... I think we got some other things too. In fact, I'm sure there are huge portions of the weekend missing, but my memory isn't the greatest these days. Anyhow, I was really missing my little boy, so we swooped over to my mom's and picked him up a bit earlier than planned, and then heard from Miss Stasha who suggested getting together for kite flying. She was sweet enough to drive out to our place, and we headed up to a nearby park type place where Nate flew a total of four different kites (he is pretty good at it, too) while us womenfolk watched appreciatively and took pictures of the Xander, who was a complete doll and full of smiles. All pictures on
missmorte's camera, but I will be sure to post some once she emails me copies.
