Girly weekend with the Bride, Day 1
Aug. 20th, 2005 07:08 pmInsanely fabulous. Got to their place early, some good time with Bugsy and Hobo (the doggies) and cranberry-blueberry-apple muffins with Earl Gray w/Bergamot tea. JoEllen and her (sister?) Peggy arrived, JoEllen is always a ton of fun and I was happy to see she was coming. Chatter while we waited for Tracy to arrive, and then eventually we all hugged Tom goodbye and headed out to Sausalito for the sea kayaking. Absolutely gorgeous, perfect weather... a little overcast, just enough to keep it cool, and the bay was just like glass. I partnered up with Tracy, who had an adorable red/white french pedicure from her recent trip to China. Leslay and I both fell in love with it. Paddled around looking at the houseboats (My favorite was from New Zealand, The Owl and the Pussycat, with a lovely glass cabin up top filled with a wrought iron four poster), the seals (stinky like dirty little dogs), and the lovely houses. Coming back in was a little harder as we were against the current/wind, but still wasn't bad. I am beginning just now to feel it a bit, since I'm terribly out of shape and two hours of kayaking will do that. Would love to go again though, and I know Nate has been interested.
Afterwards, JoEllen and Peggy had other commitments, so it was just Leslay, Tracy, and me for lunch at Barney's... yumminess. After lunch, we stopped by Tom's work and hijacked him for a bit, before meandering over to a cute little shoe store where, alas, we found many adorable things but nothing to come home with us. Our original plans for decadence at Azul didn't work out as they were booked when Leslay called for reservations, so we ended up just getting pedicures at a local place. Mmm, I think I should have a massage chair at home, really, everyone just needs one. So we all have our trendy Tracy Zhou toes, and I am home and have covered my baby boy with kisses, and need to cover my Nate with same. In just a bit I'm going to head over to epicurious and see if I can't find a nice chocolate souffle recipe that needs to be made. Love to everyone and I hope you all are having just as beautiful and fun and relaxing weekend as I am. ::kisskisskiss::
