Feel so behind with everything. But I'm working on it.

I've got to be just about done with the cold. Still with the ugly sounding hacking cough, less with the spaced out brain deadness. Lost a couple days last week somehow to that. Anyhow. Saturday was my SIL Cassie's bridal shower. The baby and I went to Barnes & Noble and got her some happy easy cookbooks to begin marital life with. A truly lovely angel of a woman helped me in the suddenly long line during checkout, where I had a squirming baby in one arm and a pile of equally heavy books in the other, while I tried to keep the one for eating the other. So that was peachy and yay for random helpfulness. Oh, and also, Alexander is the cutest thing. Yeah, we already knew that, but it was confirmed by such a bevy of people this weekend that there is clearly no way it could not be true. Managed to make the present pretty and get myself out to the shower pretty much on time, despite feeling like I was juggling a thousand things with no time to get them done. My car had been acting a little funny and decided to throw on the engine light a short ways into my trip out to their house. This was doubly exciting since I had neglected to charge my cell phone and bring it with me. Luckily, my angels were watching over me and I didn't have to try and deal with a blown up car with a baby while running late for a family gathering. Whee! But it made me nervous.

The shower itself was pretty good I guess. It's all a bit of a blur. The baby did really well, considering he's on the end of teething and has the icky coughing cold like the rest of us. And of course, he was adorable, as well as being smilyhappywilling to be passed around to people he doesn't know very well. Had my hands full with him though, so didn't really get to play silly shower games, although I did sneak in some food. Then when the boys got back, Nate let me and the baby take his truck home so I didn't have to worry about the side-of-the-road stranding thing. Car seems stable although not fixed - it's just a stuttery thing that it does, Nate says probably something to do with the spark plugs. Enh.

Easter Sunday we spent with my mom and Bill and Jay and Morgan. That was nice. And we got some easter candy. Dinner was yummy. God, I feel like I sound brain damaged, I don't know if I really do or if it's just my perceptions. So anyhow, if I do, forgive me. And I'm just going to trail off in the middle of the entry and hope my mind returns.
