Let's try that again....
Jul. 21st, 2003 09:20 amBday goodness!
For review: Two of the girls in Nate's family have birthdays very close to mine. We decided many years ago that it would make more sense and be more fun to celebrate together, and we've been doing that ever since. Since it's a family deal, sometimes I end up with two parties, that way I can also celebrate with my friends.
( birthday party fun part one )
( the loot )
Then yesterday, we went down to see Katlyn... took my rounds of wire and we made some nice frames... not as intricate or as big as the first try, I think they will turn out nicely.... then went to WalMart and JoAnn's to find the perfect wing-finishing materials... since *of course* July means all the autumn stuff is out, I fell in love with the colors of autumn leaves and decided to go with that color scheme. Got leaves for accent and gold glitter paint for veining and gold spray glitter for... well, everything really! It's spray glitter! Then I discovered that Katlyn is like a gorgeous fabric divining rod... we both got some truly lovely things for costumes. I would describe but words can't do justice to fabric and besides, there must be some suspense, no?
We were getting hungry and it was just about time for John to get off work (conveniently near where we wanted to eat) so we swung by to say hello and let him know, and Nate was able to get the new case for his cell phone (the previous one had a bad habit of letting the cellphone detach whether you wanted it to or not, leading to much aggravation) and then we headed over to Marie Callendar's, where I was not exactly diet-conscious... but I could have been worse.

Heehee... you knew that BB&B gift certificate would be burning a hole in my pocket, didn't you? Plus I had a 20% off coupon... I just had to go :) Got myself a lovely creme brulee kit with the wide shallow ramekins and the cute little blowtorch... eee! Cooking with powertools!
Also, it's hot outside. Bah.
