Hey! More than one update a week!
Apr. 7th, 2004 06:10 pmAmazing, eh?
Well, for several days, Nate had been having neck pain. Monday night he said he'd see a doctor if he still had it the next day. That night he started waking up with the pain and his hand would be numb. So, down we went Tuesday morning to the doctor.
Turns out he's having muscle spasms in his neck, which is causing the pain and stiffness, and pinching nerves which is why the numbness. He's on muscle relaxants and off work because of the effects of the pills. It's been kinda nice having him home and he's been feeling better (although a little out of it).
Today the charity we donated the old car came and picked it up. Little bittersweet - it was my first real car and really did serve me faithfully and trouble free for many years. But, on the other hand, I looooove my new one! So yay.
Also, we finally got around to starting to do stuff with the big saltwater tank - yippee! It has been "cycling" with just the rock in there for a very long time. Finally got around to ordering up some cool stuff for it, which came today, and it is so much more fun now! We got some yellow and red seaweed kind of plants which brighten it up a lot, and tons of cute little critters. Lots of snails and hermit crabs, which are happily crawling around and cleaning up the algae we started getting; cool sand sifting clams which were amazing to watch as they quickly burrowed down into the sandbed; shy little bristleworms which will hide most of the time; teeny little starfishes which will probably be impossible to see due to size/color/and their desire to sift through the sand; a really lovely soft coral - our first coral and it is just too cool.... I think that's everything. Still plenty of room for the other fishies and corals to come, but it's so nice having some cool stuff in there. Now both the tanks are fun to look at :)
Tried the whole "I'll take a nap" thing today. Ugh. Not sure it was a good idea, but we'll see. Oh, and I got my hair trimmed earlier. It's a bit shorter than I meant it to be, and that means wavier than ever, but it is healthier. I'm deciding if I hate it or not. I think I may just see it as an oppurtunity to do more with it instead of leaving it down all the time.

I know that's a little disappointing, but I was having a hard time (not connecting with the material, hard to find motivation to study, stressed about non-school things) and decided that I needed to drop them. So that's that. I do have sadness/guilt about it, but there's not always a good choice available.
Yeah, I am thinking the same thing
