Feb. 18th, 2004 01:59 pmLots to write about. Let's see. It's long of course.
Today was school. Yay school. I had a dream that I'd had the baby (actually I had a toddler and a second new baby) and it was very real. I used to be able to tell if a dream was a dream when I became conscious, but now I ask myself, Am I dreaming? and can't tell by reality. I suspected I was because I couldn't remember as much as I should about the previous two years. But I was holding my little ones and loving them so much. I know it sounds stupid but I was so sad when I woke up and realized they weren't here to give me hugs and wet baby-kisses. Yeah, I'm a sap. Anyhow, other than that dream, just alot of waking up and having a hard time going back to sleep - not unheard of these days. Did get to school and had my first test in History. Was unprepared as the teacher didn't mention we'd need scantrons when she was going over testing the first day. My luck and she must have brought it up during the one class I missed. Luckily a girl next to me was nice and gave me a scantron and pencil to use so I didn't miss time by going to the bookstore. I did study but still not sure if I did well - I have a really hard time connecting people's names to things. So I think I missed a few of those. I'll probably get a C. As I told Nate though, the first test will give me a good handle on how she tests, and I'll be able to prepare better for the next one. Anyhow, finished early and rather than waiting for my geology class to start, I went and got myself a student ID card (worst picture of me ever) and watched the first telecourse video. Mmmhmmm. Now I must go back sometime and gradually watch them all. I'd hoped to check them out but they're very popular and so they only had the library copies available. Still, nice setup for it.
Valentine's was good. I don't remember much specifically about it though. But it was good. Sunday we went down to see Nate's dad. Cassie has changed her hair and I don't like it nearly as much. Noone mentioned it. My brain has been eaten over the weekend. I don't remember much about Sunday either, except we were doing running around in search of CD creation software for the companion whatshisname. I made Nate buy me Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Must remember to remove from my Amazon list now. He had never seen the original. We have remedied this. Yes, I must own all silly vampire movies. I am building up quite a collection but there are soooo many more out there.
Monday we met up with Katlyn & John for our hike up Fremont Peak. Jay and Morgan couldn't make it. I ran out of time and didn't make creme brulee for dessert. It decided to rain. Traffic was sucky and we were a halfhour later than planned. Luckily all turned out in the end. We had picnic in the truck instead of outside, and everyone was a really good sport about it. The rain did let up and by the time we were done with the food, we were confident it was gone and so we were able to hike up to the top. The high clouds meant we didn't get the effect I was hoping for, but it was still nice. Afterwards we stopped by mission San Juan Bautista for a little bit before they closed. All in all, my plan sucked but the company was wonderful and that made the day wonderful too.
Phrases I say too often and frequently in combination: crack (and all derivatives) and 'there is only Zuul.' Nate insists noone is as strange as I am. He's probably right.
