Jan. 27th, 2004 12:09 pmMy kitties are all being evil today. Frodo is wet and in the box at this point. Sam has decided going outside is a right not a priveledge and keeps doing insane things in an attempt to break down the doors/walls/windows between him and freedom. Arwen is the best and she's still being a little hellion, constantly attacking the other cats, jumping up on areas she's not allowed, and making a mess of the house. At least children you can threaten to sell to the gypsies.
In other news, I'm really tired and low on patience after all the kitty hijinks. Doing the dishes and laundry is wearing me out, and it's not that freaking hard. Had a hard time sleeping last night and I'm sure that's part of it.
I have a school conundrum. My geology teacher is attempting to drum up business for her Colloquiem class which happens on Fridays. On the one hand, I don't want a flipping Friday class, and I shouldn't need it. On the other hand, she presented it in a way that was practically blackmail and I'm worried that she's going to be a horrible teacher in the regular class so that we're forced to take the other class to get extra "help" that we shouldn't need. I can't decide what to believe. I need to figure it out by Friday if I want to add the class. Bah. I don't know if the class is really so hard that people really need an extra unit to get a decent grade, if she's making the class be that hard so that she can get more people into the Colloquiem, or if you don't need the Coll. but she's trying to use scare tactics to get people into it. Grrrrrrr....

I wish I had more to say about the coll class, but honestly, i'd be inclinded not to go.. imho, a teacher should be able to convey the necessary information to pass the course during the allotted time.

Re: class... yeah, that's how I feel too. I just worry I'll regret my decision later.
Sometimes I just need to vent ya know?

Date: 2004-01-27 03:36 pm (UTC)It's not unusual for there to be classes that for some reason don't fill up, and the professors will try to drum up more students by advertising it in their other classes. But usually it's more like "Yeah, suchandsuch class that I'm teaching this semester has alot of spaces open right now, and I think you'd find it interesting because blahblah, so if you need another class you might consider adding in, it meets at days/times". This particular teacher has really thrown me because her approach was... hmmm, I hesitate to say threatening, but it was definitely a much stronger coersion than other instructors I've had. I think I've decided to just stick with my original stuff and not add the class. I just wish I knew *for sure* that she was being weird and not actually giving a realistic picture of things. I would think that if it was so important, it would have been listed in the schedule. I've seen notations before that x course is best taken concurrently with y course, and that wasn't the case here.
