La la la... Well yesterday I mostly watched movies and spent quality time with my kitties. Today I have been a bit more productive. Jay called just as I was starting laundry to remind me he had his DMV appointment today - good thing as I had completely forgotten. I headed over and took him to DMV where he found out his appointment was later than he thought, so he bought me lunch. Then back we went and he passed his driving test - Yay! So that was happy. I dropped him off and then went by my mom's work to drop off her souvenirs (Belgian chocolates and a lace snowflake xmas ornament) and to get some Dimetapp... but wouldn't you know, they have recalled it! Bah! I heart Dimetapp - small, easy to swallow pills that are candy coated or something, so they taste nice instead of nasty... actually *works* unlike the generic cold medicine I took yesterday, and it lasts for 12 hours. It was the perfect cold medicine. I mourn now. Hopefully they can fix it up or somebody will come out with something to take it's place. In the meantime I have a salt water nasal spray that they swore would help. Bah. I could also get some Sudafed or something which might help.
I am hoping I'm not spreading germs around like crazy and giving my cold to everyone else. It's not the-world-is-ending bad, but it's a heavy hitting, fast moving cold. My nose cycles through being stuffed up, being runny, then being dry and prone to cracking/bleeding, then back to stuffy. It brings variety to the sneezing I guess. The sore throat has thankfully left but will likely return as I'm already coughing up lovely globs of phlegm. My sinuses are wacked out and my ears keep popping. My only hope is that it continues it's fast pace and goes away as quickly as it set in and is progressing. Also, my head is spacey - that's somewhat common for me when I'm sick. I just have a short attention span and can't always think of the word I want, stuff like that... I usually avoid taking medicine with colds unless I really need it, since it makes the space cadet-ness worse. I hadn't realized how bad it was until I was driving from Jay's house to my mom's work and kept zoning out. I'd be stopped at a light, look around, and think "Where am I? Did I zone out and drive too far and get lost?" - and then I would recognize where I was and that I was on the normal route. It just seemed like so much time had passed that I should have been much further. Only a couple instances and everything was safe, but I think maybe I won't be doing much driving until I start feeling better.
Sorry about all the whining - I know everyone gets sick and it's no big deal, but honestly venting does make me feel better. I'll try to keep it all behind cut tags so people don't have to listen to it unless they want to.
So now I'm back home and it's time to start thinking about dinner and do a bit more laundry. Still getting back in the swing of things after being gone.
