Quickie update....
today has been a bundle of errands! Our guest list is mostly confirmed, and have begun preparing food. Pineapple upside-down cake is cooling as we speak.... I really hope it turned out well! First time I've ever made one. Salad is made and dressing is begun... we have plenty so I might taste-test that tonight. I think shopping and errands are just about all done... a few more things can be prepared ahead, and then cleaning and decorating. Need to swing by my mom's and borrow her long buffet-y table.

Mom and I are making a pilgrimage to Costco tomorrow morning and will pick up veggie goodness there.

Yum indeed! The salad turned out delightful IMO (I *had* to steal a bite to see if the dressing, which I mostly faked a recipe for, was a good ratio) and I am resisting eating it. And the kitchen smells heavenly from all the baking! MmmmmmMmm!

dont know if ive directly told you or not(know ive talked about it but dont know how much) but morgan wont be able to make it. shes off doing her college orientation. but im down for it. hehe if you need any help setting up/ moving or anything let me know i dont have any plans for tonight.

I found leis, but they were semi-expensive when thinking of buying bunches of them. I can still go pick some up (small flowers were $3, large ones were almost $6 a piece) if you want.

I got lots of pineapples. I also bought some tropically-colored flowers for decorating (just dyed daisies, but pretty!)

Don't worry about the leis... I think we'll be looking plenty tropical without them :) Yay flowers! I have some sunflowers and glads too, have been hoping to see something tropical like bird of paradise or something, but no luck... I think the tropical colored daisies will go perfectly :)

I'm not exactly sure what time I should be showing up. Is it going to be at 4? Do you want me to come early to help set up stuff?

Official start time is 4:00, but you are more than welcome to come earlier... anytime really, although the morning is likely to be busier, so I won't be able to be as social. I've tried to get most of the stuff done ahead of time, so I won't be in the kitchen too much.
