It's good to be crafty....
Wing frames completed! I think I should have made them smaller.... Now I need to decide what material I want to put on the frames. Should I use something gauze-y and transparent or use a solid material? Oh decisions...
In the meantime, I should attach some ribbons to the little black wings I made a while back. Whee! I love costumey goodness.

Date: 2003-07-03 01:55 pm (UTC)Well, someday I shall get a chance to start on a pair. If I do get to see you this weekend, bring them! Or take pictures. Bringing is better. *grins*

Date: 2003-07-03 02:17 pm (UTC)I can definitely bring the small ones... right now they are cute but undecorated, just simple little guys I made from miscellaneous wire a sheer black scarf thing I didn't need. They need decoration!
The big ones I can *probably* bring... they're very much a work in progress and I can't guarantee that they won't be torn apart at some point in the process....

Date: 2003-07-03 03:42 pm (UTC)I'm not sure if it's strong enough to support the wings I made... I think I should have either made them smaller, or else used multiple pieces of wire. I did toy with adding support "veining" wires to them but it wasn't working well, I think I'd need to sauter (sp?) the pieces into place or create the frame so the veining was integrated (if that makes sense). Not sure yet if I'll need to redo them or if they will gain some stability from the fabric & be okay.
They are shaped like these: http://www.amybrownart.com/images2_623/bubbles.jpg
but without the tails on the bottom wings. I do like the way the shaping turned out, I'm just not sure if it will be stable enough.
