Leaving for Canada...

Got up and on the road early in the morning. Made pretty good time, 11 hrs to Beaverton OR, where we were staying with my best friend from school, Licia. It was great to see them again, all the kiddos were excited and happy to see us too. Ordered dinner in and spent alot of time relaxing and catching up with each others lives, playing with the ferret, trying to coax the kitties into trusting us, etc. Licia gave me a little jeweled tree that her downstairs neighbor makes, and we watched silly japanese cartoons and eventually went to bed. Jared was thrilled to let us take his room which was great for privacy, etc, but not-so-great due to twin bed. I slept right through but Nate not so well. More quality time in the morning then out to a late breakfast (apple cream cheese streudel pancakes yummmm) and then it was time to get everything together and continue on to Canada.

Date: 2003-05-21 11:41 am (UTC)I'd love to go up to Canada someday I'm interested in how long it took you to drive there. John and I usually make it to Portland in 12 hours, which is about the same as you (since we're an hour further south.) I'd like to drive up there agin this summer... don't know if we'll make it all the way into Canada, though!
