sublimatedangelGood gaming last night. Stayed up late which was fine but I shouldn't have had the coffee - didn't get nearly enough sleep.
Stasha lost a betta so I took a look at the survivor, Neptune, and he's got a case of velvet. Brought him home with me for metaphorical chicken soup in the hopes that I can make him better. Alot of the web pages about velvet aren't very encouraging, but I'm keeping hope since he doesn't seem to be showing lots of symptoms yet - hopefully we caught it early. Got him in some nice fresh water with a little plant friend, and am using the extended light & raised temperature method on him. He is somewhat perky though he's a little skittish and tends to run from me.
Speaking of fish, we need to get a couple more barbs since we lost one recently and are down to four of them. Might redo the tank setup some and maybe get something new - we'll see; we talked about moving the puffers to the snail tank which is happily overrun with snailies, and also about moving them into a divided section of the big tank and having the guppies on the larger side. Lala, fishy talk. Sowwy.
Nate's sister Becky and her family will be coming for the holidays but will not staying with us. I'm a bit relieved since I do value having some time to myself and it would have been a bit crowded here. And very happy they are coming since I haven't seen them in a while, yay little nieces and nephews!
Dang hiccups. Kay, I need to scurry off for some breakfast and then do some minor stuff around the house so it is ready for soapmaking goodness tomorrow. Nate works later tonight too. Bah. But it could be worse...
