Well!
I just put up a whole slew of used books to sell on Amazon. Let's hope people buy them! I want to put stuff up on ebay too, but must 1) take pictures of items 2) Upload pictures of items 3) Write description codes for items and I haven't done that yet. I have started 0) making lists of items.

It would be nice to get some more money and since we're still not sure if me getting a job is possible (it screws our taxes to hell and back - we definitely are better off with me not working than when I was working full time. I'm not sure if I can swing a part time or temporary job without messing things up) I think this would be a good way to do it and to declutter a bit in the process. I like Amazon's system alot since there is no fee unless it sells, and it's not an auction type thing. Ebay is cheap but not entirely free, and it's alot more work. Still, we'll see if anything sells before we get too excited.

P.S. to Rois/Katlyn - I noticed there was an auction ad on darkthreads today. I thought it was auction-free but the user info doesn't say so. Do we want to fix that before it becomes bombarded like gothfash, or are the ads okay?

re: darkthreads - I think that auction listings are OK if the poster is a regular - and doesn't over-post her auctions (that girl posts something on gothfash seemingly every other day). Also, if the items are of interest to sewing folk - patterns, fabrics, machines, etc. (And possibly the occasional corset. *giggle*)

re: books - I have another box and a half of Mike's stuff, if ou want it. If you don't take it, he'll drag it over to the library, but I'd prefer that one of my friends profits from his getting rid of stuff.

Mike says that they're not hurting anyone by sitting in the livingroom, so they can stick around until you can come and get them. *grin*

Darkthreads isn't "ad" or auction free, mostly because I don't like being a moderator-nazi. The only post (very OT) I've deleted outright was some guy who pretty much put up a personal ad on every goth community I could see. Ick.

But it does look like she's someone who might be a problem... someone who posts the same thing to 10 different communities kinda bothers me. I don't want it spam central... the reason I don't watch gothfash is because I get sick of the auctions. However... I don't see a problem with people promoting themselves as long as it doesn't become chronic.

Hrm. I will have to think on this.
