Sep. 13th, 2002 09:02 pmToday was mostly pet & home stuff. Did some laundry and then went over to
horrorvenus's house to get the lovely tubs of snake grass her mom has been saving for me. When I got there, her mom also offered me an oriental poppy. It's dormant right now, and she'd rather have something more yearround, so I happily added it to the other three pots of goodies to come home with me. Her description made it sound pretty, but I still need to look it up online for pictures and care info. Then find a happy place for it to grow! Chatted with Jennifer for a long time and then home I came to do a few things. Had planned on going back over there, but once I got started....
Anyway, game tonight was cancelled and it kind of sounds like it may be a quiet weekend. Not sure if Katlyn is coming or not, and it sounds like we're not having a sleepover, so I shall probably putter - a worthwhile activity. I made a trip up to Petco as we were *out* of kitty litter and I'd been wanting to get some plants/snails. While I was there, I also picked up some more kitten food (we're not out, but this way I don't have to make another trip for awhile), a catnip plant (then remembered Nate bought one, so now we have two. I forgot because we've been keeping it on top of the fridge, out of little paws reach), another tank decoration (it was cheap and pretty), and one of those running/filtered water fountain-type of water bowls (because the cats are spoiled brats). I got my anacharis and also two other little cheap plants, and the Petco boy gave me a lot of snailies since I asked so nicely! At least two of the round kind and more than six of the trumpet snails. Lots of snails!! I put them into the hospital tank, along with a half-bundle of the anacharis, and they are crawling around all happy!! I hope I get baby snails soon :) The other half of the plant bundle went into the fountain, and the other bundle went into the pond. The other two new plants (not sure what they are, but I like them) got put into the pond and the big fishtank. Plants are doing better in there... the fish haven't eaten the leaves off the dwarf lily since it started putting them out again, and there is a new growth on the big plant too... maybe it will get a second leaf! Be still my heart! :) I hope they continue leaving the vegetation alone. Need to take pictures tomorrow! Pics of the new plants, pics of the new fish & snails, pics of how big my kitties are getting, pics of the pond-in-progress... pics of everything. Lalala... got lots done today too, bills & housework and such. After pics tomorrow, maybe I will plant my plants. Too dark out now ;)
