I should explain right away that this is not my fault. No no no. I wasn't planning on getting any more fish. But then it happened...
I was perusing the Pennysaver in a purely cursory manner before banishing it to the bag of paper recyclables. Every Wednesday it comes, and we do this little dance, and away it goes. There is one page in particular I like (but never use) which is the "Free" page. It's completely free, no purchases required, very little or no strings attached, and is usually for an ice cream cone between certain hours of the day. Well today, you guessed it, it was for fish. Any tropical fish up to $5 value. So Nate got home and I kinda nonchalantly pointed it out to him and he said "Let's go!"
So you see, it's not my fault.
I brought home the most beautiful little girl - a blue female betta. She is at the moment quietly residing in an isolation tank. We usually forget to do that. But in a week or so, barring disease, I will introduce her into the main tank and see how she likes it. If there's any fighting, I'll pull her back out and into the tank she's in now. Gosh she's pretty though. Pictures if I ever manage to do it. I really want to put more pics up but I just never do.

Date: 2002-07-25 10:54 am (UTC)Me and Nate are already saying with my luck she's probably a lesbian anyway. He's betting less than 3 weeks til I try and breed them, but I doubt I want to (at least that soon). Though I did choose which one I would try to breed her with if I did, so maybe he's right. Anyway, you are supposed to keep a new fish separate for uhhh like a week or two, so if it has any diseases you will notice before all your other fish get them. We pretty much never do that, but we are this time, and if she's disease free she'll go into the big tank until I want to breed her.
PS, heard Earlene took the shower curtain, did she take anything else? Shower curtains are cheapcheap at dollar stores and BigLots/MacFrugals so that's no biggie.
