Bob & Melanie were down for birthday stuff yesterday and decided to stay over at a hotel and make a weekend of it, so we got together with them this morning and had a nice breakfast at The Rising Loafer in Pleasanton. Lots of cute shops and breakfast places out there. Afterwards, we hit a few yard sales (cuz Melanie & I both like to do that) and I scored a few cool things!
1. The *most*adorable*ever* salt & pepper set. It's a little bat and a little ghost and the bat is scooping the ghost up in his arms like to carry over the threshold. I adore them!!
2. A **huge** unopened but dusty set of Ginger bath stuff. I know, I know, bath stuff.... but it was sooo cheap! I had to.
3. Several crossstitch and crochet type magazines, crochet hooks, and shimmery metallic embroidery floss.
4. Cookbook: "Angels in the Kitchen" Tiny little book with recipes for Angel Food Cake, Cherry Halo Pie, Celestial Orange Chocolate Cheesecake, etc... basically anything sweet with an angel theme. I would have gotten it just for that, but I opened up to this lovely inscription:
Amy,
Happy Birthday to you. May all your dreams come true you wish for. Love (unintelligible name. Maybe Raven??)
It was too perfect. The name. The timing. The angels.
So I am even happier than yesterday! After our guests departed for Petaluma, we were talking, and finally decided that we needed to get rid of the Bronco and get Nate a new dependable vehicle. Ended up getting a gorgeous white '97 Ford Explorer with a ton of features, which will prolly be in his post. I really like it. Showed it off to my mom and Jay and Mike. Hooray pretty new car!
