Jun. 14th, 2002 12:31 pmAhhh kitten goodness :) They are both sleeping so I am sneaking in an update...
Woke up early this morning. Nate ended up staying home with a headache aka truck stress. Right now he is out at the shop with his dad trying to straighten things out yet *again*. The business was a good one until the owner handed it off to his son. The son is some kind of scuzzy scam artist. Everytime we take care of this the son tries to screw it up again. So armed with correct blue book values, car shop laws, and the intention of getting the solution in writing this time, they are off to fight the good fight. My poor bunny, he sure as hell does not need this. His dad is one of those people that will be a real jerk to get his way. We have tried being nice though, and it doesn't work. I hope it goes relatively easily.
My kittens get more adorable every day. This is just day 2, but I can tell :) Frodo is really lovey and likes to be able to see you all the time. It is hard to get him to take his nap because he wants to fall asleep in your arms. Got him to snuggle down on a sweater though and put some books away. Gah, I want a clean house! Sam is more independent and frisky, is okay to play on his own or with Frodo or with people. He was a little carsick this morning (we were going to take them by Nate's work before Nate decided to stay home) but then he felt okay and curled up with me all lovey for the drive home. They love to jump and climb, so I want to get their kitty tree built soon. Maybe I will go make some diagrams for that. Still need to pattern the kitty ears I want to make Sunday - should be at sewing circle unless something comes up.
Need to get fish water going for the aquariums... Will probably put my betta in his old home, the loaches in the 5 gallon, and the barbs in the 2 gallon. So far the kittens are not too entranced with the fish, so they should be alright. Kay, off I go to do stuff instead of talk about it!

Date: 2002-06-14 12:41 pm (UTC)I did a set of those for Bunnycat - they came out wonderfully, and I meant to make myself a pair.. get the bendyclip sort of barette (that sort that's one piece of metal, pointed at one end, rounded at the other. They also sell them at fabric stores a "quilter's clips.") they seem to be the easiest to sew things onto, and go into hair easily.
Snurfle the kitties' for me.....

Date: 2002-06-14 12:47 pm (UTC)I have: 2 regular barettes. Size large. The kind that open up on one end and snap shut with that err... barette mechanism.
2 hair combs. Metal wire twisted variety. Not sure if my hair will like them or not.
6ish clippy barrettes. The kind that close with spring pressure or something like that. They seem strong but I'm not sure if they'll hold or not, prob depends on how heavy the ears get.
Whhooo! You've made them before though... this means you can help me if I can't figure out how to do it! Did you use a pattern or just fake it? I will be faking, I think...

Date: 2002-06-14 01:10 pm (UTC)heh.
Wide rounded triangle with slightly concave bottom edge.
Size to be determined by scale wanted and the size of the head they're going on. About 3" high before seam allowances is usually good.

Date: 2002-06-14 05:55 pm (UTC)Yup, that's pretty much how I'll be doing them, only with two sizes of triangle-y shapes so they are threeeeeedeeeee...
No, I didn't just have chocolate, why? Okay, well maybe I did...
