And the whirlwind that was this weekend draws to a close, and the whirlwind that is this week begins......

Saturday: Removal of acoustic ceiling. Went rather well, easier than Nate thought it would be, about like I expected except less messy! Well initially less messy. There is the White Powder That Won't Go Away in the house now. We just keep letting it settle and cleaning it up. Trudi cleaned the bathroom... she is awesome. We spackled and I also watered the yards and weeded a little bit. Tied back a few of the rosebushes that were trying to overrun the path along the side. Put the washer & dryer through a test cycle. Brought a few more boxes over but nothing major. That was most of Saturday, might be forgetting a few things. We were headed out back to our place when Stasha called and invited us over for BBQ goodness. Can we wash up first, and can Jay come? Yes, okay, see you in a bit. Bridge was all icky but we finally made it and had a good time. Got ourselves home and to bed later than we maybe should have, but it was good to have some fun so the weekend is not all work.

Sunday: Mom called to find out when to be there (she later flaked. Bad Mommy). We got Jay, headed out, made trips to Home Depot for stuff. Trudi showed up while I was sanding down the spackle, and we started masking off places in prep for painting. At one point she fell off the ladder - very bad! But she was okay except for some cuts on her elbow. Poor Trudi, and she even stayed to paint with us after that. She is such a good friend. Anyway, got the living room and dining room painted and then after Trudi left and the paint was dry we unmasked and pulled up the carpet and padding in the living room. Also pulled the baseboards before we painted, they'll go back on after the floor people finish up. Haven't decided how I want to do the trim yet. I'd like to use a touch of the gold somehow but not sure how I want to apply it. So for now the baseboards are unpainted. After that, we got the bedrooms ready for painting - more spackling and we decided to tear out the closet in the spare room. Gave us much more room.

Today: Need to finish with the bedrooms. Will go over later to sand & respackle & resand as neccessary. Then paint bedrooms. When bedrooms are dry, tear out carpet and padding and also take out linoleum in the hallway. Also need to take over: dishes & silverware, more bathroom stuff, the other S & P shakers, more laundry, more kitchen stuff. And clocks are a good idea. And I need to take over all my sewing/crafts stuff, but it's not boxed up yet. Anyway, I also need to do some schoolwork type things since I probably won't have alot of time during the week. Whew... need to go fix breakfast and get going on it all.
