The veil was first purchased for my mother in law and is something of a family heirloom/tradition, as well as being quite beautiful (those Belgians know their lace, you know) - I was flattered and thrilled when she offered to let me wear it.
Um, not quite. It was purchased for my Nanny, specifically it was a gift from a family friend at the time. That's why it always had to go back to the UK after use. My mom wore it, my aunt Jacquie wore it, Becky wore it. Various female cousins from the UK side wore it as well. Mom was talking to Nanny about you when we were first engaged, and Nanny asked if she thought you'd like to wear the veil. At least that's the story I got from Mom.
