Friday night with Miss Stasha
Yay for girlie nights! Nate got some quality time in with Alexander while I packed up my Count Chocula pjs and headed out to see
missmorte! We had dinner at the yummy thai place, made the obligatory Target shopping run (where I got some really cute dishes - matte black with a shiny black floral [cherry blossoms maybe?] print - thus at least temporarily sating my envy of Mrs. Leslay's adorable collection of dinnerware), picked up a slew of gigantic decadent desserts, watched Delovely whilst I failed to do something cute and retro with her hair, got my toenails painted sparkly sparkly burgundy and stayed up far far too late chatting.
Saturday sewing circle
Drove home Saturday morning and picked up a few projects. The boys were out doing something, so I headed over to
horrorvenus's place for more girlie chatting goodness and craftiness. None of the other girls had arrived yet, although Jennifer of course was there, and her mom and her sister Sara, so between talking with them and cuddling the ADORABLE puppy, I actually made lots of progress (trimming and hemming curtain panels) and was able to make a quick trip home to pick up the last couple panels and some pants that needed hemming. Also got to squeeze in some time with the Alexander before daddy took him to Grandma's, and when I got back,
roisnoir and
beckastar were there. It was wonderful to see Rois again - we don't get together nearly often enough since she moved to the city - and it was great to meet Becka whom I've glimpsed a bit of on LJ. Got all my sewing done plus cut out the pattern for a pair of pants I want to make (with some alterations to the pattern) - could have gotten that done if I'd already gotten fabric for them. Got home in time to spend some more time with the little one before dropping him off at my mom's, and then Nate and I went out to dinner and played some Puzzle Pirates together (don't do much of that these days).
Sunday laziness and errands
Slept in forever and ever, and then got breakfasty loveliness and coffee at Peet's. Then we stopped by the pet store because we needed a new heater for the saltwater tank, and got the grocery shopping out of the way. We managed to track down a hair salon that was open on a Sunday and Nate got a haircut... looks pretty good, but it's a big change, and I think he's still adjusting to it. Followed up with lunch/dinner at Mimi's, and a wee bit of shopping before it was time to pick up le sprogling. Spent some time hanging out with my mom and Jay, and got Morgan's phone number to plan our Brokeback Mountain viewing. All in all, a very good weekend, and lots of credits towards my "not being a hermit" resolution. I've been doing pretty good on those in general, so yay me.
