Review of April
May. 3rd, 2008 02:26 pmBoo me for never updating. I shall attempt to catch up a little.
Biggest news is that Alex is in preschool now. He seems to really enjoy it, and I think we're seeing some improvement in his language development. They do a lot of craft projects as well. They are pretty adorable in a "my kid did that!" kind of way :) He also brought home his first bout of "toddlers are germy" illness - Fifth's disease, which is pretty mild and not too awful, and he got over it pretty easily. He gets handstamps and stickers, which he loves to talk about, but otherwise doesn't say much about his day. The parents get an end-of-the-week report on what they do, though, so I'm pretty happy with it overall.
April was also amazing for social-ness. Jeff got to come out and visit, which was just fantastic... I love him so much and we don't get to see each other nearly often enough. The last time he was out, we did lots of tourist stuff, so this time we were more domestic... hung out at the house, went out to dinner, tried to stock up on in-person hugs since the electronic variety aren't quite as good.
We also got to meet up for dinner with Trudi, and meet the guy she's been dating, and that went pretty well. She'll be moving back to the SF area sometime in the next few months (yaaaaaay) so we'll hopefully be seeing more of her.
Leslay had her baby shower, which was awesome. It was so good to see her, and I simply can't wait until her little one is here to coo over. I finally got to indulge a little bit in a crafty way and made a cute little pandas-with-bamboo top, which I failed to take pictures of. Matching booties still need a bit more work, but will be delivered when we get to go visit the bebe.
Also have been meeting up with
denyce who is an absolute doll and fills my fangirlish little heart with so much glee, I just can't even tell you. Got to go to one of the semi-local meetups and pretend not to be shy and hopefully make even more friends, so I'm kind of all giddy with the shiny-new-people ness of it all.
Stuff with my mom is... unresolved. She should be on a more regular/dependable chemo schedule now that she can see Dr. Neuwelt through his office ::crosses fingers:: I dunno, I have such mixed feelings about everything. She goes on Monday for a Social Security eval, and I might have jury duty... won't know til tomorrow night whether I can go with her or not. I'm somewhat worried about it all but the worrying doesn't accomplish anything, so I'm mostly trying to put it out of my mind. Just a big sense of looming change hovering there, you know? I'm trying to have faith that it's going to be okay (as okay as it can be).
Nate's considering a new job he was offered. Neither of us is sure what the better choice is, but we'll have to make a decision sooner or later. I think I'm leaning towards him taking it. I don't know. Otherwise, things with us have been pretty awesome lately. I loves my Nate.
Okay, think that's all I planned to talk about, even if it's not all that detailed.
