Feb. 18th, 2008 06:05 pmCatching up... good and bad.
Nate took a few days off last week, and we left the boy with my mom and had a little romantic getaway at a charming little bed and breakfast. The entire trip was pretty wonderful, and much needed. Alex has been sick, and it's gradually spread to Nate and then to me as well, so that was not keen, but didn't detract much at all from our time together. By Sunday I was feeling yuck enough that I stayed home instead of going out to Petaluma to visit with everyone out there. Beth's down from Canada again, but until the... twentysomethingth, so I'll have another chance to see her.
On the way back, Nate got a migraine. Not normally too big a deal, but nasal injectors don't work so well when you're completely congested - go figure. Poor guy managed to get to Leslay's and they took excellent care of my loved ones. Tom and Joe thoughtfully hand-delivered him back home when it became clear that he wasn't going to be in any state to drive, and in spite of the less than ideal circumstances, it was nice to touch bases with them. I've been really wanting to make something special for the little Bok Choy on the way... I should get started soon, as sewing anything these days takes me forever it seems.
Stasha's girly birthday party is this weekend, and I'm really hoping to be feeling better by then. Have a week, so I should at least by non-contagious by that point.
My poor Alex has got the worst of things at the moment... up all night with spiking fevers and his cough turned funky... took him in to the pediatrician's today and confirmed Nate's croup suspicions, so he's on steroids to help, and we're keeping his temps down with drugs and baths. He's not very hard to deal with, really... just wants a lot of cuddling and sleeping, and hasn't been too interested in food. He should be feeling better in a couple days, and hopefully the rest of us will as well.
