Recent events, mostly random
Nov. 8th, 2007 12:49 pmHalloween was a success this year. The downtown trick-or-treating pre-Halloween was awesome, and Alex got lots of candy, and we ran into random people we kind of knew, and there was a huge throng of costume-y goodness, and I was just happy. The 31st was a little crazy, with a brief bit of trick-or-treating at my mom's (whoa, neighbor flashbacks) and then driving all the way out to Nate's dad's place so they had equal time. But it was good :) We have the big metal witch cauldron holding his loot, and Alex will ask for "Treat treat?" There's enough that it's going to last quite a while.
Did I mention we had volunteer pumpkins this year? A seed must have gotten dropped at some point, because we have a huge sprawling pumpkin vine around our front steps. One little pumpkin oranged up just in time to be made a jack-o-lantern, and we've another larger one that's still green that I'll probably use for some kind of Thanksgiving decoration.
Last weekend I went to a convention, which was a little scary and lots of fun, and I have to say that driving into Burlingame to meet a bunch of amazing women I'd never seen before was giving me Darkthreads flashbacks like whoa. I had so much fun, and wasn't *entirely* shy and quiet, and at least a few of the people seemed to like me, and I was called upon to undo a drunk stranger's pants in the ladies room while her equally drunk friend watched, fascinated by my sober nimble little fingers. Seriously, I love the way random wtf moments happen at conventions. Anyhow, I've got a huge list of things I really need to read, both online and published authors, and it's all much with the happiness.
We have a costume party on SATURDAY, and I have no idea how I'm going to pull together something awesome since my autumn fairy underdress has gone missing and nothing else seems to work, and there is very little time in which to create something. I have a bit of time this afternoon to figure it out, and my indecisive nature is not pleased, but I shall have costume goodness, darn it.
Also... I have a cold. Boo being sick. Since Amy was supposed to get the flu shot and ah, didn't... yet(?)... it's definitely a cold and not the flu.
