First - new babies! Mike and Shannon had their little girl, Chloe, last Saturday. We went to see them on Sunday, and awww! She's got a ton of pretty hair and looks a lot like her mama :) There would be pictures, but we apparently left the camera on manual focus without noticing, so everything is blurry. Boo. But I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot of her and so more picture opportunities will come. Also, Matt and Jen brought Odelle into the world on Monday! Lots of happiness for them as well, and we'd love to see her once the initial flurry drops off a bit. Aww, baby girls! It just makes me all smiley.
Alex celebrates his third birthday at the end of this month, and it will be his first big birthday party with other kids around. Having it over my mom's house since, more space and not as much with the reallyreallyhot. Pirate theme, whoo! It should be fun. It's also my mom's 50th birthday, which is a huge one, but I don't know that she's wanting to celebrate at all. I've gotten her a couple things, but feel like I should do more - just not sure what. She drives me completely insane at times, but I love my mommy like crazy.
Minor goings-ons... Nate has Linux-y conference stuff in San Francisco this week, whee! Alex and I went with yesterday to have lunch with him and a Puzzle Pirates friend; there was thoughts of going on the Zeum carousel, but Alex was way more into feeding the pidgeons than going on rides. We've put my car in the shop for its routine maintenance, since it was due and now's a good time to do it... I can just drop Nate off at BART and pick him up in the evenings. So, $ but better to get it taken care of now. Oh! And end-of-summer clearance meant that OSH had their gazebos for super cheap, so we picked one up for out over the hot tub so we have our privacy back. And plants, because I cannot resists them! More yard pictures soon. We have a little pumpkin plant volunteer out front right now, we must have missed some seeds last year.
Oh, and caring more about users than advertisers? IJ for the win.
I'd love to do a poll, but sooo not giving LJ any money ever again, so...
What should I do with my bed? It's four-poster cherry wood for those that haven't been in/seen my bedroom.
Curtain options: I've got the crimson/black shimmery ones up now. There are also the gorgeous ivory net-and-ribbons ones. Or nothing, but pff.
Sheets: Um. White/ivory silk, black silk, navy cotton w/ satin trim, light blue & white floral cotton... I think that's it besides the flannel stuff, and just... no.
Covers: white lacy bedspread, dark red raw silk duvet, regular red duvet, black/grey/white comforter... Um, we have others. Black duvet maybe? We must have one, right?
Yes, I could make these decisions myself, but I'm lazy. And need to do laundry. And finish addressing invitations for Alex's party.
