Almost forgot my brother's birthday. Luckily my mom called to remind me. So went over Friday night for cake and such.
Yesterday we went out to see Nate's dad... kind of a early-Father's-Day barbeque kind of thing. Got to see my adorable (but sick and therefore fussy) nephew CJ, and Cassie and Mick who are in process of buying a house! Very excited for them. There was much splashing in the (cold) jacuzzi by the Alex. Got done with that and realized Miss Stasha had tried to reach me (my phone was in the car charging) so called her back, and ended up going out to her place for girl goodness.

Visited briefly with [livejournal.com profile] ariyanakylstram, who was on her way out the door shortly afterward, leaving behind tequila. Miss Stasha proceeded to get me drunk and make me use scissors. No one was under the impression that this was a *good* idea, but it worked out surprisingly okay. We made some progress on her skirt for the 4th of July costume of doom, which is going to magnificently tacky, looked at pretty boys online, and kidnapped a jet-lagged and mellow [livejournal.com profile] mark27 from his place in San Francisco. Throw in the kitties, Breakfast Club, her Bam obsession, painting of my thumbnail, snark, satin, TMI, celebrity nudity, professions of innocence, and fallen angel food cake, and you have our evening. The fact that it wasn't particularly crazy for us is part of why I love my Miss Stasha so very much.

Came home in the wee hours of Sunday morning to snuggle into my own bed and get some sleep, and then on with Father's Day! Pillowfight/ticklefights in the bed as per our usual weekend behavior. Watched Alex "sign" Nate's card & envelope with the markers and then had him deliver it for much awwwing. Did late breakfast with a combination of Noah's Bagels and Starbucks. Picked up the Death Cab for Cutie CD we'd been wanting. Happys! Hit Williams-Sonoma to exchange the adorable-but-duplicate train cake mold and got an insect-shapes cupcake one and an apple corer/slicer since apples are Alex's favorite food at the moment, plus it'll make tarts and stuff a lot easier to make. Happys! And Nate picked out a pretty, shiny new lawnmower to bring home for him. Happys! And... there was probably other stuffs in the weekend, but that's good for the highlights.
