Tra la, tra la.
May. 13th, 2006 03:06 pmAhh, summertime. The weather's been pretty nice lately, all sunshine-y and hot. Nate got Alex's wading pool from last year out and inflated, and we've got it out on the back patio. We spend a little while out there most days - Alex likes to splash and play, but mostly what he likes to do is take his plastic cup and try to empty the pool, bit by bit. It's kinda cute.
We're housecleaning today, and making pretty good progress since the boy is having his nap now. I took a break earlier to go get my hair cut and "christened" Nate's new truck (someone rear-ended me in front of the post office, going maybe 1/2 mph). Didn't seem like there was any damage so we weren't going to bother reporting it... it turns out there is some chipping of the paint which I didn't see, but still no biggie. And anyhow, we should now be accident-free for a while.
Continued on and got my hair cut. Usually it's just about waist length, but in the summer I like to take it up to a little longer than my shoulder blades. It's actually now shorter than it should be :( Usually they get it right, but sometimes they seem to think that I really mean "Take off three more inches than I'm asking for." :::frowns at stupid barber people who don't understand the concept of *long* hair::: Ah well, it'll grow back.
Tomorrow is mother's day! I don't really have any specific plans. My own mom is up in Portland until Tuesday, visiting our family up there. And Nate's stepmother, Karen... well, she's just not ever going to be in a "mom" place for us, you know? So we'll probably just be focused on ME ME ME...
Ahem. :) Sorry.
Did I already mention Nate's sister Cassie is pregnant? I'm so excited! Hee, I just can't wait until it's time to shop for the baby shower and everything. She's mellowed out a lot in the last few years, and while I don't think we'll suddenly get super close (she has friends with kids that are closer to her), it'll be nice to have a local niece/nephew to spoil. Now we just need to get Shannon and Leslay knocked up, and I'll have babies to spoil all over the place! Yiss.
