Yay weekend!
May. 7th, 2006 07:40 pmOur fabulous mechanic let us know that we had a limited shelf-life left on Nate's Explorer, and so we went out car shopping on Saturday. He ended up trading in for a '03 Explorer that has a few extras that the old one didn't. It's blue and pretty and we like it. I'll be going down to my credit union (probably tomorrow) in order to get a better interest rate, of course, but I'm quite pleased with our purchase.
I'm really loving the warm and sunny weather, and have been enjoying doing stuff in the yard. Mother's day is coming up, and Nate said for my gift I could redecorate the bathroom again! Whee! I just love stuff like that, and it's going to be even more uber-girly this time. And um, finished, unlike the lavendar/white incarnation where I never did the handpainted violets. Pink and cream and frilly and girly, man, I'm telling you. I'm on a very feminine kick lately. And crafty. But first I really need to finish our spring cleaning of the house.
I want to socialize too. I missed the last sewing circle due to lack of projects and needing some Nate-time, but hopefully there will be another one soon. And I want to have people over here for tea and nibbly things, and for barbeques, and to go out and have picnics and just all that fun spring/summer stuff.
The yard is doing great... we've got peaches of course, but also wee cherries! This'll be the first year that the cherry tree is big enough to produce fruit, and I'm way more excited than I ought to be. Our wee little veggies are doing well for the most part, too. Everything's just budding and blossoming and fruiting and I feel very content and in harmony with the world around me. My mom had the baby for practically the whole weekend, which was a nice break, but I missed him and am glad he's back with us now.
Need to repaint my toenails tonight... sandal weather means pretty toes!
