Craftiness!
Jan. 27th, 2006 04:05 pmGot the additional bias tape I needed and finished the dress. Yay! I ended up not liking the placement of the second strap across the bust, so I cut it off... I may reattach later, but for now, the dress is ready and wearable and this makes me very happy. I also got the hat done, and am quite pleased with the dogwood blossom arrangement. Now, I don't know if it will actually suit me or not, since I'm usually not a hat wearing gal, but it is all done! And I made quite a bit of progress on the little matching romper for Alex. I have a lot of extra fabric still, but can't think of any other little items that would go well.
Dinner was incredibly yummy (as we knew it would be). I ended up making a lime-cilantro marinaded shrimp-pineapple-salsa thing to scoop onto tortilla chips. Hard to describe, but tasty! There was the little molten chocolate cake things for dessert. And they brought us back handmade belgian chocolate truffles from their trip. ::heaven:: Not very healthy, but who turns down exquisite little chocolate things? Not I. I still want to try faking my way through a creme brulee cheesecake.
Oh! And I was thinking I'd have to wait a few months before I could drag people out sea kayaking, but they went earlier this month and said the weather and water was gorgeous! So I'm going to see if people want to go sometime soon (looks pointedly at
missmorte). I still want it to be spring so I can have tea parties, however. I think I'm going to do one a month, starting in March. Yissssss. :::eyes the violets warily and wonders if she should try to make pretty sugared edible flowers for decorations:::
