kitten progress....
Aug. 21st, 2003 04:33 pmWell, our little Arwen is just the cutest thing. She's getting the hang of the litter-box thing alot quicker than I expected, and prefers drinking from a saucer of formula instead of a bottle. We also give her a bit of soft kitten food diluted with formula. She's very social and likes to play, although still kinda getting the hang of it (and balance). Her favorite toys are hands and feet when she can get them and laundry/cloth when she can't. I'm teaching her to play with the jingle bell balls and the little fluffy-thing-on-a-string. She likes the other cats, they are getting used to her. Frodo is pretty much used to her. Sam is still kinda skittish and usually runs from her and occasionally hisses at her. Not too bad though, and I think in a couple days that'll be completely gone.
Much loud booming thunder here today. She seems to have taken that in stride although loud noises in general do startle her a bit. The rain is good for the yard... the rose and honeysuckle that we had to cut way back in order to move the jacuzzi is starting to grow back. The cherry tree, however, I'm worried about... not sure if it got sun-scorched or blighted somehow, but all the leaves are about dead. I have to be optimistic and hope it will come back, but not sure if it will.
What else? I got Nate into Puzzle Pirates too, so we play that together. We have only one guppy left in the big fishtank, along with the striped loaches, the cory cats, and the pleco. I'm avoiding restocking it for now... too much bad luck and too many snails. If we lose the last guppy (or move it to the pond), I'm going to either move the puffers and barbs back into the big tank (they'll take out the snail population) or else just shut the tank down for a little while. We'll see.
Nate's in Modesto helping his dad to a couple of his appointments... not sure what time he'll be back tonight. Hopefully not too late, though. It's been a pretty good day, but very introspective... between the rain and being alone I might get lonely and sulky if I'm not careful.
