Jun. 22nd, 2003 12:23 pmWell... yesterday we had yard sale goodness. Methinks the city didn't do as much to advertise as they could have, it was a pretty slow day. Did make some money which was keen although I have mixed feelings about selling my bumble bee IKEA tent. I know it's for the best and I never used it but... it was so cute! Anyhow, Mike & Shannon came over to keep us company and put a few of their things out for sale... after we packed everything away, we also had Chris & Lara over for BBQing and playing cards... heheh... we've turned them into such addicts. They brought over a couple card shufflers and nifty card holders to play with too. Ahhh lots of good fun and yummy food.
We were going to yard sale again today too, but we both woke up and just didn't feel like it. And if yesterday was slow I'm not anticipating a big rush today for the leftover items. Will probably try to trade in the books at a used book store and much of the clothing and such will find it's way to Goodwill. So, instead of that we got Noah's Bagels and then hit up Alden Lane nursery so I could spend some of my winnings... errr, earnings! Got a water hyacinth (in bloom!) for the pond... it was cheap and while they're supposed to multiply like tribbles, they're also supposed to really compete with the pea-soup algae... that would be good. Oh! Yesterday our first water lily bloomed! It's the 'Attraction' lily, very pretty pale red bloom. Anyhow, also picked up some lobelia for the urn by the front door & a little yellow flowering thing for around the pond. Looked at groundcovers but wasn't sure I wanted to pay nursery prices... may get something at one of the big box stores.
We are lightly sunburned (my bunny more than me) and Nate is dozing... oh, what to do, what to do?
