I'm not a morning person. Really, I'm not. I like to sleep in. But this week I keep waking up early and not getting back to sleep, and not getting terrific sleep even at night. But that's the only thing I'm going to whine about.
We went to Pet Extreme last night - a local close pet shop that we just noticed recently, and that Nate had scouted out on Monday. The new tank in the living room is happily housing the fancy guppies during the cycling process but Nate kinda wants new fish and let's face it, I'm not real good at saying no to them either. So we went and looked. It's a nice place, and I fell in love with a beautiful fish which the helpful employee identified as an African Butterfly in need of brackish water. Now, I can do that for this fish. However, my research is not matching - the pictures of African Butterfly Cichlids do not match the gorgeous ephemeral creature I saw. It had lots of pretty little fringy bits and was one color on the left side and another shade on the right side. ....must...have....fish...but must provide good appropriate home for fish too. And compatible tankmates, yes.
Have been reading the composting how-to that the lovely Jennifer left on my doorstep, and am getting excited about it. Nate is willing to try it on the condition that if it is really smelly we are getting rid of it, and I can live with that as I don't want a stinky yard either. I am confident that with the tips and tricks I've been learning that it can be avoided, and I will be a good citizen of the earth and also have nice compostingness to enrich the yard. Yes yes. More researching to do and then building/getting of bin, but things are moving along nicely.
Also, it was apparently cold enough last night to fog up not only the bedroom window, but the mirrored door on the Ikea wardrobe. Brr! But it was sunny yesterday afternoon and I'm hoping for more of the same today. Speaking of cold, must go take care of damp chilly hair before I catch one.
