Weekend update begins...
Feb. 8th, 2003 09:18 pmToday we slept in and then had crumpets for breakfast. Yum. I felt all English and such. I was reminded that I haven't made scones in far too long. But enough of breakfast!
Since we were lazy and stayed in bed with the kitties all morning, we called Rois around 11:30 to let her know we were running a bit late. It worked out just fine, and we were able to get alot in the truck and made a trip out to the new place in tow of Rois, Mike, Jennifer, & Kelly. A little bit of getting separated from our caravan during the trip, but the gift of cell phone technology got everyone there safe and sound. Unloaded the cars and then the drivers found places to park while we began the process of taking stuff over to the building and then up the stairs. I definitely feel like I got some exersize today, which is a good thing. I could use getting some on a regular basis.
After the first load was taken care of, we headed back to Burlingame to get seconds, and Rois treated everyone to dinner at Left At Albuquerque... yumm! The prickly pear margaritas have ensured that I'm feeling no pain from all the exertion... we'll see what tomorrow morning says about it. Anyway, the second trip was much faster for a combination of reasons and I feel good about how much we got done.

In other news, school is going well. I do need to get my Psych reading done before class on Monday though. Still enjoying all my classes, zooming along happily in Math and we've begun actually painting stuff in my watercolor class.... pictures will be forthcoming.
Spring is sunny and warm during the day, bringing up the gorgeous white mystery flowers and others just about to open... I've got a rain of camellia blossoms out back in shades of white, rose, and pink... the morning glory seeds I planted have turned into seedlings which I hope will survive the still-frigid nights. I've got tulips and such that should be poking their heads up any day now, roses flushed with new growth, and lemons that are just about ripe. The new things we planted have all been putting out healthy new growth and I'm hoping I'll have berries this summer. The only unhappy exception is my bleeding heart vine, who is alive but distinctly unhappy and shoots withering glances in my direction. Since it proclaims on the tag that it also makes a lovely houseplant, I've brought it inside in the hopes that it's the chilly midnight air that it's taking offense to.
The kitties are healthy and still very full of kitten antics. Unfortunately, their hunting instincts are coming out and Sammy brought a little bird in the house today, which got loose on the way to the food dish. Nate was able to rescue it before Sam could recapture it, and once outside it was able to fly to a nearby tree, so hopefully the little thing isn't too hurt. I don't mind if they kill bugs, but I don't want dead little birdies :(
Well, there is more to write about, but another time... I need some snuggles and hot tea before bed.
