Nov. 29th, 2002 05:38 pmWell! Thanksgiving went very well, I am very happy with our holiday. Mike and Shannon came over and spent alot of time hanging out before going back to her mom's for dinner - hope they weren't late! That girl is such an awesome influence on him. I wasn't sure they were going to make it but am really glad they did. Trudi came with her wonderful addicting chex mix... yowm, I have Trudi's chex mix. It is the best most wonderful snack mix ever. My mom was a bit of a punk but not as bad as she can be sometimes, mostly she was her usual self - she ducked out fairly early since she had alot going on this morning. Jay was good and I sent him home with a big tub of leftovers. Liam seemed to be really well behaved though I didn't spend much time with him, and Stasha & I got in lots of chattering with the other girls. Duane brought some card games so there was plenty of cardplaying happening in the living room.
The food was yummy - turkey was wonderful (yay me!) and took longer than the recipe said - glad I put it in an hour early. Think I'll use the recipe again. Potato soup somehow wasn't perfect - made it the same as at the practice dinner but some of the baked potato chunks were hard like they hadn't been cooked long enough - very odd and I'm not sure what happened there. But that was the only thing that wasn't exactly right, not bad for my first time! It seemed like everyone enjoyed and had a good time and all that, so I'm calling it a success.
Did a bit of running around today - xmas shopping and such - after cleaning up the house. Stasha was supposed to call me this morning but guess she forgot :( no big deal though. Got some wrapping done and found out Nate's sister Becky and her family may be coming out to CA for Christmastime... that would really be nice. Offered to let them stay here if they do... might be a little less spacious but Cassie and Becky cannot stand living with each other, and it's only going to be worse this year. So I might have leeeeeeetle childrens scampering around! Wheee!
Ah, now to do a bathmaking party post...
