The above is an excerpt from a beautiful book I got last weekend. It's a journal of sorts, in the Desire theme (I have notecards by the same people) and is really nicely done... the outer cover unlocks and opens to reveal an inner cover, and the mostly blank pages are printed with "hand-drawn" lines, decorative scrollwork, and quotes like the one above. Occasionally there are illustrations, strangely composite images with a quite distinctive style. It's just one of those things that I find compelling in a way that I can't name, and I wonder if there are any other things done by these same people.

In a less beautiful but also stationary-related note, I need to find my index cards. I have millions of them. I think making flashcards will really help me with my German. We had our first quiz today, and while the other students seem to be equally dismal about how they fared, I just know I can do better than that. Not that I'm taking the class for the grade, but that's beside the point - I like to do my best. So flashcards I shall be making.
On that tangent, in math news, I am still zooming along quite quickly. I'm way ahead of schedule, and have almost completed the first section of Trig. If I can keep this pace, I'll have finished both sections and have extra time during the holidays since I don't have to attend after I pass the finals. My English class is also a condensed class (thus the high amount of homework) and will be done early as well. It would be nice to only have to worry about the Design Tech and the German... I also have the career planning class, but the amount of effort/work that is needed for that is negligable. Though I was pleased with the results of my first "personality quiz determining job" thing - I'm starting to get more of an idea of things that I would like and be good at. Now I just need to determine what the job markets, requirements, etc are for these options, and narrow down the majors I want to pursue. I feel more in control and aware of what I want than I have in a long time, and that's a good thing.
Yes, I should be in bed. No, I'm not really tired. Yes, I'm going anyway.
