well part two of the corset is trimmed... now I just have to do part three!
*Makes ugly face*
Not tonight though... I've had enough. It does look pretty though. Maybe I should start doing the grommeting stuffs...

Looks pretty good so far... I just did the two edges that will be tied together & spiral laced it. I also did one in the area where the sleeve will attach... screwed that one up a little (closed it around only 2 layers of fabric instead of all three) so I had to sew around and around it with thread... yuck! I'm glad I hadn't planned to cover all the eyelets, it's a bit time consuming and personally I don't think you get that much amazement out of it. If I can get the other sleeve-tie-grommets set correctly, I'm not sure if I'll sew over them also to maintain the same look - I'll have to see how much they show. Still, that is only 3 more. *Wicked glee* It is getting closed to finished! I tacked it up to my dummy and it looks real pretty! I may do a preliminary pic or two.

Hrm... you tie your sleeves into your corset straps? I've always just used small "D" rings sewn into the outside armscyth seam, covered by epaulets or shoulder rolls or whatever, or possibly the largish hook and eyes if I think the other way is too obtrusive.

Sorry - I think I made that more confusing than it needs to be. There will actually not be SLEEVES at all, just the straps. It's the effigy style elizabethan, and the straps are cut into the back piece, and then will come over my shoulders and attach to the front with some ribbon (probably sheer ivory, just because I like how it looks.) What I'm going to do to attach them is sew the center of the ribbon to the end of the strap, and then tuck the straps under the front edge of the corset and pull the two ends of the ribbon through the grommeted holes in the front piece of the corset and tie them. Hopefully that makes sense! If not, I should have pics soon which should clarify things.

Oh, oh. I know the Effigy corset. I just thought maybe you knew some new and improved way of tying your sleeves on. *grins*
