Ah, life is strange. So, let's see...

Alex has decided he doesn't like to wear clothes anymore. If it was summertime, I'd be inclined to let him run around in just his diaper, but it's not quite that warm anymore. However, this means that getting him dressed involves chasing him down and forcing him into the clothes, instead of him "helping". :::hopes it's a short phase:::

In cuter news, he imitates the cats cleaning themselves by licking his own "paw" and it's actually pretty cute. If there's a mirror close by, he'll perfect his pouty face in it before turning it on us when he doesn't get his way. Anytime the phone rings, he immediately starts having a fake phone conversation. He "sings" along with music more and more, although he's probably going to take after me, poor kid. We're also still getting plenty of wolf howls and stunt falls and random kisses. And we're getting something that I think is either a lion or dinosaur roar. I'm trying to get him to make claw-y hands along with it. He's a pretty sweet boy for the most part.

Cooler weather means I'm not barefoot all the time these days. My happy squishy socks have come out to play and are happy to be reunited with my feet.

Oh, and Bob and Melanie and Mike and Shannon were down on Saturday for barbeque goodness. They completely co-opted my hostessly duties by bringing absolutely all the food and then some. I clearly need some yummy flavored olive oils for dipping and such, because - yum. And Meg (Melanie) and I went up to the used bookstore where I got some board books for Alex (baby forest animals, because he loves them, and a Beatrix Potter because he's not old enough for the big one with paper pages) and some Chalker and MZBradley fiction for me, and a nice book on crepe making so I can quit making excuses for not making my own.

Need to shop for Cassie's baby's shower later this month, which will hopefully be fun. And we'll be doing some kind of pumpkin patch/corn maze stuff too I'm sure... Halloween is always a little bittersweet these days, because there's not as much celebration going on as when I was younger. I know it will pick back up again once Alexander gets older and there are school parties and trick or treating and such. I ought to get to the fabric store and pick up supplies to go with the pattern if I'm going to make his costume as planned this year. Haven't done any sewing in months which is sad-making, but life has been a little busy, and in a good way, so...

Anyhow, hope all of you are doing well and having fun!
